SILK WAVES
Hello and welcome back everyone!!! I was so excited to write about this look, mostly because I haven't really done something like this before and also, because this is my second style post. I feel like I'm taking the blog a bit more seriously, even though I don't exactly plan on being all that consistent.
Currently, I live in a very arid environment; so, I prefer clothes that are less flowy, because the wind can and will make you wish you didn't have them. But on an evening out or for special occasions, they do come in pretty handy.
I know you might be wondering; what is she wearing?? Yes, yes, yes, I am wondering too. Now this dress was tailored as a Boubou for me back in Nigeria. A Boubou is a flowing wide-sleeved robe worn by men in much of West Africa, and to a lesser extent in North Africa (source: Wiktionary)

So, above are what the boubou actually look like. Nowadays though, many people make and style them in so many different ways.
So originally, my dress looked like that. I wasn't exactly satisfied with the fitting; so, I decided to rip out the stitches at the side (the stitches that held the back and front piece of the dress together). The plan was to get it fixed ASAP, but I ended up wearing it and loving how it looked. Plus, it became super versatile, and I could style it in so many different ways! Okay, so I'll show you the looks I achieved with this in a different post. For now, enjoy the pictures!

I love the colour. Usually, I'm more into neutral or nude colours, but there is nothing wrong with colouring up your life once in a while, is there?

Normally, silk boubous have a nice relaxing flow to them. This one falls in more like waves because there is nothing holding the back and front piece of the dress together.

Under the sun, the colour looks a little different. I wanted you to see the side properly though.

It almost looks like a giant veil.... Yeah it sorta is.

This was the first picture taken, and I feel like it is an actual representation of the actual color of the dress and everything else I'm wearing.
